- No Card (NC) vs. Did Not Finish (DNF) – For the purpose of establishing the number of players who actually began the qualifying round, there is an important distinction between No Card and Did Not Finish:
- Players who withdraw due to injury/illness, or if the withdrawal is justified will be designated as Did Not Finish (DNF). These players will not be penalized for withdrawing.
- Any player who begins their round but who fails to turn in a scorecard, walks off after 9 holes, etc… will be designated as a No Card (NC). Those players marked as No Card will be placed in Performance Violation 1.
- In either case, once a player begins their round, they will not be designated as Withdrawn (WD). The WD designation is only for those players who withdraw prior to the start of their round.
